Loyiso Mkize is a South African visual artist and was born in Butterworth, 19th March 1987. He studied and now lives in Cape Town where he has worked as Head illustrator for the south african soccer comic series Supa Strikas. In 2013 he started his own visual arts company LMArt (Pty) Ltd under which he created South Africa’s first superhero comic book series, KWEZI. The company also specialises in servicing illustration and design based communications to corporate clients. Projects have included work for Archie comics, Mtv Shuga and Standard bank. This runs concurrently with his long standing and constantly growing career in the fine arts in which he has had 5 solo and 6 group exhibitions in platforms like FNB Art fair in Johannesburg to Art basel in Miami. Mkize was recently commissioned by Disney to created a Black Panther celebratory artwork for the premiere screening of the movie in Johannesburg. He has also recently been included in News 24’s (2018) list of 100 Mandelas of the future.
