WHEN WILL GUESTS BE ANNOUNCED?
Most content is released in the weeks leading up to the show itself, though we will be revealing details earlier than that via our website and social channels.
WHAT IS ARTIST ALLEY?
Artist Alley is the place to rub elbows with the greatest pencilers, inkers and writers from every corner of comics. Artist Alley is located on the show floor.
CAN YOU WATCH MY KIDS WHILE I EXPLORE?
Sorry. Comic Con Africa does not provide child care services.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY CHILD, FRIENDS, FAMILY OR I GET SEPARATED?
Find the nearest Comic Con Africa staff member or security guard and we will help you locate your missing party. We suggest that when you arrive at Comic Con Africa you and your party pick a location to meet in case anyone does get lost. We also recommend that you obtain a wristband from registration for your child/children and write your contact details on it.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
No. The only animals permitted in the venue are service animals. We love animals as much as you, but you are going to have to leave your pets at home.
THIS IS MY FIRST COMIC CON AFRICA, WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Comic Con Africa will have something for everybody. The main areas we feature at the event are various forms of gaming, comics, movie and television, animation and anime, cosplay and an artist alley!
At the show you will have the chance to listen to your various heroes answer questions on stage and purchase a photograph and/or autograph from them. You will be able to browse through all of our fantastic retailers or participate in one of our speciality workshops; even get a sketch from one of our featured comic book artists!
CAN I USE MY OWN CAMERA AT THE EVENT?
There are some restrictions on photographs. You are welcome to bring your camera on each show day as we allow photos for the first few minutes of each Q and A session. Once the MC requests that you put your camera away, you must adhere to this request as it is strictly monitored by the Comic Con Africa staff. It is prohibited to take photographs during the professional photographs and the autograph sessions.
You are welcome to take pictures and videos at the Comic Con Africa and share them on social media with the hashtag #ComicConAfrica. Please note that recording of audio and video is prohibited during screenings, concerts and many live shows. Please also understand that guests can be available for photos but not have to. Guests are entitled to privacy and if they ask not to be photographed, their wishes will be respected.
CAN I FLY A DRONE AROUND THE VENUE?
Drones are not allowed in the venue.
WILL I BE ON CAMERA IF I ATTEND?
We attract local, national and international press to each Comic Con event. In purchasing your ticket and in consideration for being admitted to the event, the holder consents to being recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity. Holder also hereby: (1) releases Reed Exhibitions from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind; (2) authorizes and permits Reed Exhibitions and its designees which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity; and (3) agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the event. Holder agrees not to make any recordings of any kind at designated activities without the express written permission of Reed Exhibitions. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove from the event facilities any person who in our sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner which we reasonably consider to be disruptive of the event.
DO YOU HAVE SPECIAL ACCESS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND WITH REDUCED MOBILITY?
We will have a dedicated parking, registration desk and entrance set-up for persons with disabilities and reduced mobility as well as an elevator between the 3 levels.
ARE THERE FOOD STALLS AVAILABLE?
Food stalls will be available at the event.
I’D LIKE TO VOLUNTEER AT COMIC CON AFRICA, WHERE CAN I APPLY?
Follow our social networks; we will be looking for volunteers soon!
WHAT DOES COMIC CON AFRICA THINK OF BOOTLEGS?
The buying and selling of counterfeit/knock-off/unlicensed materials is not tolerated at Comic Con Africa. Comic Con Africa is a celebration of the best of popular culture, and bootlegs have no place in the show. Violation of this rule will result in one and only one warning. A second violation and you'll be removed from the show.
DO I NEED TO BRING CASH?
While some vendors might accept credit cards, many do not. There will be limited ATMs located at the venue; however, to avoid an extra line we suggest you stop at the ATM before arriving at the show. Cash is usually the only form of payment accepted in our autographing area. If you want to buy photo ops during the show instead of ahead of time, please be prepared by bringing cash for this as well.
